CCLD is an organization of Colorado professionals involved in the education of the learning disabled. CCLD is the Colorado chapter of the Council for Learning Disabilities. Colorado Society of School Psychologists (CSSP)
CSSP's purpose is to take a leadership role in advancing the education and development of children and youth to provide professional growth opportunities to school psychologists, to advance the field of school psychology in Colorado, and to promote high standards of professionalism among its members. The organization offers membership to school psychologists in and outside Colorado, as well as to professionals in related fields who wish to be affiliated with CSSP activities. Council for Exceptional Children (CCEC)
The Council for Exceptional Children is a professional organization of persons interested in the education of children and adults with a broad range of exceptionalities. Colorado Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA)
CSHA, founded in 1955, is the state professional association representing almost 700 members concerned with promoting quality speech, language, and hearing services in Colorado. Its goals are to increase public awareness of communication and communicative disorders, to exchange information about speech, language, and hearing, to advocate for the prevention of communicative disorders, and to promote the highest standards of professional service. Colorado Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders (CCCBD)
The Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders (CCBD) is a division of CEC. CCBD is an international professional organization committed to promoting and facilitating the education and general welfare of children and youth with behavioral and emotional disorders. Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT)
DCDT focuses on the career development of individuals with disabilities and/or those who are gifted - and their transition from school to adult life. The goals of DCDT include: promoting more efficient and effective programs of career development, endorsing career development and transition as a process that focuses on life roles, sponsoring original research, and collaborating with other divisions of CEC and educational and governmental agencies related to career development and transition. Learning Disabilities Association of Colorado (LDAC)
LDAC is committed to supporting the potential of individuals with learning and attention disabilities through accurate identification, advocacy, and education. The group's vision is to be a self-sustaining organization recognized statewide for its expertise, influence, and effectiveness in supporting the learning disability community. The International Dyslexia Association (IDA), Rocky Mountain Branch
Previously known as Orton Dyslexia Society, IDA is a non-profit organization with nationwide and international membership. National IDA has been a strong force in the educational and scientific communities for more than 50 years. IDA can provide referrals for diagnosis, tutoring, and schooling, as well as information on assistive technologies and emerging educational and medical research. The group offers professionals and educators information on multisensory structured language approaches to teaching individuals with dyslexia and other language-learning disabilities. Conferences, seminars, and support groups help connect individuals with information. IDA collaborates with other national and international organizations to increase the public's understanding of learning disabilities. IDA offers information and support for individuals with dyslexia (of all ages) and their families, teachers, physicians, and researchers to better understand dyslexia and dyslexia- related challenges, including writing, spelling, and math.
